손수민은 기술 중심의 자본주의 사회에서 우리가 타인과 관계를 맺는 방식을 조명한다. 사람의 신체를 응시하는 시선, 기계가 사람을 데이터화하는 시스템, 우리를 대신하기 위해 만들어진 대체물과의 관계에 관한 개인들의 경험을 사회적 사건과 겹쳐보며 사회가 몸의 주체인 인간을 무엇이라 여기는지 살펴본다.

<Heavenly Bodies: Scores, Songs and Stories>

Soomin Shon’s installations, live interventions, and videos capture stories and poetry suggestive of different forms of coded communication, manifested in our relationship with technologies. She investigates intricate personal, sociopolitical, and cultural structures in collective and personal narratives. Relying on performative possibilities and a desire to address people in the moment, she examines the capacities of the body as a site of conflicts and intersections.
