야외 퍼포먼스 페스티벌 <윈드밀 에어>는 윈드밀로 향하는 관객의 동선을 따라 도심의 일상 공간에 퍼포먼스를 겹쳐 놓는 프로그램이다. 실내 무대에서 벗어나, 도시의 흐름 속에서 우연히 마주치는 장면과 만남으로 공연의 자리를 확장한다. ⠀
야외 퍼포먼스는 의도치 않은 풍경이 중첩되기도 하지만, 그보다 더 떼어내기 어려운 것이 바로 음향적 배경이다. 도시의 소리는 통제할 수 없고 쉽게 구분되지 않는다. 저 멀리서 들리는 강변북로의 경적 소리부터, 놀이터에서 뛰어노는 아이들의 웃음소리, 인적 드문 공터에서 들려오는 발자국 소리까지, 여러 소리가 뒤섞이며 출몰하고 사라지기를 반복한다. ⠀
이번 페스티벌은 이처럼 구분되지 않는 소리의 경계 위에서 음악과 소음, 목소리를 풀어내는 총 여덟 개의 작품을 선보인다. 퍼포머의 신체가 부딪히며 맞닿는 소리들, 특정 장치를 이용해 음원의 위치를 찾아내는 놀이, 공기를 불거나 타격하고 문질러 내는 연주 등 각 작가들은 저마다의 방식으로 소리의 물성을 탐구할 것이다. 시각적 채집이 만연한 시대에서 이번 퍼포먼스는 비재현적 감각인 청각이 어떤 방식으로 우리의 경험을 기록하게 할지 주목하게 만든다. ⠀

The outdoor performance festival Windmill Air overlays live performance onto the everyda urban spaces along the path that leads the audience toward Windmill. It breaks away from indoor stages and expands the site of performance into the flow of the city, unfolding through chanc encounters and unexpected scenes.
Outdoor performance inevitably entangles with unintended landscapes, but its most inseparable layer is the sonic background. The city’s sounds cannot be controlled or neatly distinguished: th distant horns of the Gangbyeon Expressway, children’s laughter breaking loose from a playground, footsteps echoing across an emptied lot. Sounds intermingle, emerge, and vanish in continual flux.
Against these indistinguishable sonic boundaries, the festival presents eight pieces that releas music, noise, and voice. Each artist explores the materiality of sound in their own way—through bodies that collide and touch, through devices that make a game of locating, through instrument that blow, strike, and rub air into vibration. If visual capture saturates our era, Windmill Air turns our attention to how hearing, as nonrepresentational sense, might record our experiences.

"우리가 욕망하는 것은 대상이 아니라, 그를 통해 채워질 거라 믿는 결핍이다." 갈망은 점차 괴물이 되어 내면을 산산조각내고, 마음은 흩어지고 무너진다. 하우스 리듬을 통해 그 붕괴와 비워짐의 파동을 고요히 그려낸다.
"What we desire is not the object itself, but the lack we believe it will fill." Longing gradually becomes a monster shattering the interior, while the mind scatters and collapses.
Through House rhythms, the waves of that collapse and emptiness are quietly traced.

도시는 하늘을 메우는 동시에 땅 아래를 비운다. 해가 지고 모두 집으로 돌아가는 시간, 돌아오지 않을 친구를, 동료를, 선생님을 부르는 소리는 교각 위 자동차 소음에 묻힌다.
도시의 연결망인 도로와 다리 아래에서 애프터 폴은 단절의 불안을 마주하고 무너질 땅을 기꺼이 들여다본다.
The city fills the sky even as it hollows out the ground below.
At sunset when everyone returns home, the calls for friends, colleagues, or teachers who won't return fade beneath the noise of cars on the overpass. Beneath the roads and bridges — the connective tissue of the city - After Fall confronts the unease of disconnection and willingly gazes into the ground that is about to collapse.

요이의 〈숨 오케스트라〉 시리즈는 다매체 퍼포먼스 및 사운드 작업으로, 해녀들에게서 배운 호흡의 리듬과 감각을 바탕으로 숨이라는 비언어적 소리와 행위에 귀 기울인다. 개인의 숨이 공동의 리듬으로 확장되며, 쉼과 노동, 돌봄과 연대의 감각으로 이어지는 순간에 주목한다. 몸에서 몸으로 오랜 시간을 거쳐 구전되듯 이어진 호흡의 리듬은 도심의 물결 속에서 낯선 몸들을 잇고, 또 다른 물과 몸 속으로 스며든다. 완결되지 않은 채 계속해서 변주되는 공동의 울림을 나눈다.
Yo-E Ryou's Breath Orchestra series is a multi-media performance and sound work that listens closely to breath as a non-verbal sound and gesture, inspired by the rhythms and sensibilities learned from Jeju haenyeo divers. Individual breaths expand into a collective rhythm, drawing attention to moments of rest, labor, care, and solidarity. Carried from body to body over long periods, like an oral transmission, these rhythms of breath weave through the city's watery currents, linking unfamiliar bodies and seeping into other waters and bodies.
Collective resonance, never fully complete, continues to unfold, shared across bodies and space.

"그는 그의 얼굴을 가져가 그를 따라잡는 시선의 속도로부터 달아난다." 소매치기의 카메라는 공항에서 백팩을 소매치기당한 경험에서 출발한다.
CCTV 영상을 개인에게 공개하지 않는 영국 감시 시스템 규정에 따라, 이름도 얼굴도 알 수 없는 소매치기의 흔적은 몸의 기억 속에서만 되살아난다.
감시망을 벗어난 신체의 감각과 '신의 눈'이라 불리는 드론의 시야를 매개로, 퍼포먼스는 사라진 뒤에도 여전히 남아 있는 것을 추적한다.
"It takes away its face and flees, faster than the gaze that races to catch it." Pickpocket's Camera begins with the experience of having a backpack stolen at an airport. Under the regulations of the UK surveilance system where CCTV footage is not available to individuals, the traces of the nameless pickpocket surfaces only through the body's memory. Between the sensation of a body slipping free of the surveilance net and the drone's all-seeing "eye of God," the performance follows what persists in absence, what refuses to disappear.

테츠오 코가와의 마이크로 FM 송신기로 소리를 띄우고 수신기의 주파수를 맞춰 듣는다. 미시적이고 불완전한 접속 속에서 두 귀구슬을 굴리는 자들이 각자의 흔들리는 주파수 위를 걷는다. 노이즈와 간섭은 실패이자 존재의 왜곡이지만, 그 속에서 지나간 자리와 머무르지 않는 것들을 상상하게 된다.
이는 매체와 방법, 실천의 재 재인용이다.
Using Tetsuo Kogawa's micro FM transmitter, sound drifts into air, tuned and caught on shifting frequncies. In this microscopic, imperfect connections, two
"ear-beads rollers" walk their own trembling wavelengths. Noise and interference mark both failure and distortion, yet they open space to imagine what has passed and what refuses to stay. A re-requotation of medium, method, and practice.

'지나가던 조씨'(이하 조씨)는 자유즉흥음악을 연주하는 연주자입니다. 이번 공연에서 조씨는 테이블 위에 있는 작은 악기들을 자유롭게 즉흥적으로 연주하고, 미니멀한 소리 조각들을 만들어 이어나갑니다. 종종 이펙터를 이용해 소리를 색다르게 꾸미기도 합니다. 듣는 사람에 따라 이 소리들이 신기하고 흥미로울 수도, 낯설고 어색할 수도 있을 것입니다.
어쩌면 이것은 조씨가 살면서 경험한 것들에 대해 생각나는 대로 흉내를 내며 떠드는 모습일 수도 있겠네요.
Passing Josh is a free improvisation artist. For this performance, Josh brings together a tabletop of small instruments, shaping spontaneous soundsapes from minimal fragments. At times, effects pedals bend and color the sounds into unexpected textures. To some, these sonic pieces may feel wondrous and playful; to others, strange or awkward. Perhaps it is something like Josh rambling-- imitating and echoing whatever comes to mind through traces of lived experience.
